Updated: May 9, 2021

Father's Day is fast approaching on Sunday 20th June and, here at Survival Wisdom, we have some great gift ideas lined up for you!

On Father's Day itself, we are running a special Carving day here at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, Cornwall. Dads will be treated to a full day of learning the ancient skill of wood carving. The course will be delivered by one of the UK's leading survival expert Dave Pledger. Dave the former Head of the UK military survival school, will be delivering a masterclass on the skill of spoon carving. Dave learnt his craft, carving with leading "bushcraft expert" and TV personality Ray Mears, who is a personal friend of Dave's.

The course will be open on selected dates throughout the year and is open for adults only and will be available for up to 10 students. For further information and costs contact richard@survivalwisdom.com Book quickly as places are going fast!

Another alternative and very popular day course is the remote living and survival course. This session is led by an ex military survival trainer, who will bring a modern and practical twist to your emergency plans. Military survival skills see a blend of bushcraft skills and improvised use of modern recycled materials and equipment.

The course will include easy firelighting techniques, natural and improvised shelter building, as well as learning about survival and emergency PLAN's.

This course is open to the whole family, and an ideal way to learn useful practical skills. This course will introduce some innovation and style to your wild-camping and adventures.
