Navigating through life whatever your age, ability and personal challenges requires skills that we can teach. These courses helps you reconnect with nature and find your way. 

Finding your Way

The course delivers the fundamental skills of map reading and navigation. We discuss the history of map making, how to use a compass and pacing to enhance any journey and bring a sense of adventure to any walking journey. We  practice these skills in the beautiful grounds of the Mount Edgcumbe country park, Cornwall.   The 2 day course sees you practice all these skills on a stunning national park such as Dartmoor Devon, or the beautiful Bodmin Moors Cornwall.

The course also takes you through some top tips and techniques of what to do in an emergency in a remote setting and promote you're recovery.

Natural Navigation

The Emergency Natural Navigation course provides confidence and reassurance when you are navigationally misplaced. The course provides you with natural clues to orientation and location using long forgotten skills, still in use by many native navigators around the world, taking you on a breathtaking walking journey of discovery. Discover nature’s clues to navigation in a beautiful setting in the South West of England.

The Survival Wisdom team has had many years of navigation experience throughout the world on both land and sea. They have been trained by Tristan Gooley ‘The Natural Navigator’, to deliver a theoretical and practical package that will enhance even the most seasoned and practiced navigators.
